The United Nations Medal for the Former Yugoslavia. UNPROFOR..

Established in March of 1992 .. as an interim arrangement to create the conditions for the negotiations of peace & security in the former Yugoslav crisis...in June of that year after the deterioration of the situation , the mandate was to include the area & the functioning of security for Sarajevo airport..Also the security of Bosnia & Herzegovina..& the monitoring of demilitary airspace.

This same medal was also used in 1995-96 for the cease fire agreement of December of 1994 UNCRO..monitoring the borders of Croatia, Bosnia Hertzegovina , Serbia & Montenegro to facilitate the delivery of international humanitarian assistance...
