Stl: 170cl Bröstvidd: 104cm 143 (West Midlands) Brigade, based in Shrewsbury, commands or administers Army units throughout the whole of the West Midlands, and can rightly claim to have one of the longest histories in the British Army. The Brigade dates back to 1649, when volunteers formed up to support the Parliamentarians during the Civil War. The Brigade's region stretches from the rural landscapes of Shropshire and Herefordshire to the huge inner city area of Birmingham, providing immense variety and a whole range of challenging tasks. 143 (West Midlands) Brigade regular and TA units now routinely deploy abroad to Iraq, Afghanistan and elsewhere - a new challenge for TA soldiers, who have proved just as professional as their Regular colleagues.
